Education committee visits Sherwood Park Elementary

It’s not everyday that one sees a pair of concrete trucks parked on a basketball court.

Last Thursday, VRCA Education Committee volunteers were at North Vancouver’s Sherwood Park Elementary School talking to approximately 232 students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 about the construction industry.

The concrete trucks were used for show and tell.

“It was great to have so many people from our local construction industry come and interact with the future skilled tradespeople, coordinators, engineers, managers, and technologists that will hopefully influence the world of construction tomorrow,” said Ronan Dean, VRCA Education Committee Chair.

Eleven people from four different VRCA member companies participated in the School Outreach presentation at Sherwood Park. Thank you to the volunteers from Graham Infrastructure LP, Ledcor Construction Ltd., Mott Electric GP and Ocean Concrete.
