It was clear skies and sunshine on July 19 as the VRCA Boat Cruise set sail in False Creek on the Magic Spirit. The cruise was hosted by the U40 Network and sponsored by Williams Scotsman, and Waste Management.
Attendance was the largest yet at this popular annual event, with many attendees knocking it out of the park with their creative 90’s costumes!
The ship sailed along False Creek by Granville Island, then along West Van to Port Atkinson Lighthouse before heading back through English Bay and False Creek all while enjoying the sunny afternoon.
In addition to our largest crowd yet, the U40 Network also raised a record setting $1726 for KidStart. Special thanks goes to Ryan Leng from Avid Contracting who gave back his 50/50 winnings of $642 in the 50/50 back to the fund. Thanks to the crew from KidStart for attending and handling the 50/50 ticket sales. Thanks to the Vancouver Whitecaps who also donated four tickets to the upcoming Vancouver Whitecaps vs Montreal Impact game.
Co sponsor Waste Management also held a prize draw for a Stormtech Jacket and 4 tickets to a Vancouver Canadians game.
Special thanks to Stephanie Streat who was the U40 lead on this event, and of course to the amazing Kate Larson our U40 Event Project Supervisor for their help with the event, and to the team at Magic Yacht Charters for hosting us!
