On May 13, over 1,300 guests and volunteers gathered at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver to honour and celebrate the sixty-two 2019 Women of Distinction Awards nominees and four outstanding organizations, each nominated for their achievements and service to their organizations and communities.
VRCA president, Fiona Famulak, was 1 of 9 women nominated in the non-profit award category. While fellow-nominee, Ingrid Kastens, CEO of Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS), received the award, Fiona could not be more proud to be recognized alongside Kastens and the other women in this category.
“It is a great honour to stand amongst so many inspiring women.” said Famulak. “My heartfelt congratulations to Ingrid and to all the 2019 nominees and award recipients for their tireless work and impressive achievements that contribute to the well-being and future of our organizations and communities.”
“I also want to take this opportunity to thank everybody who supported my nomination and voted for me as part of the Connecting the Community Award.” she continued. “I highly encourage everyone to think about the women in their life and workplace, who are making a difference for our tomorrow, and to nominate them as part of the 2020 Women of Distinction Awards process.”
