For the team at CCI Group, giving back to their community is a top priority. Mental health in the construction industry has always been a deeply personal issue for the company, and to help in supporting this cause, they recently held their first annual charity golf tournament.

With the endorsement of the Canadian Mental Health Association, CCI Group led the construction industry by organizing their sold-out golf tournament on September 9 at Morgan Creek Golf Course. 140 golfers raised an amazing total of $50,000 for the Canadian Mental Health Association, Vancouver-Fraser Branch.

“This event is the start of more and larger fundraising efforts,” said CCI Group COO Kuldeep Chohan. “We feel a responsibility to not only build strong buildings but to build strong communities as well,” he added.

CCI Group has also taken their passion for supporting mental health one step further by forming the CCI Group Mental Health Society, to further lead the construction industry in future fundraising initiatives and endeavors that benefit their community.

“Mental Health is an important issue for the community, and we want to do our part to raise awareness and help out as best we can,” said CCI Group CEO Garry Sangha. “We feel so strongly that mental health affects so many, with so many often choosing to stay silent. We wanted to do something about this, and we decided to form the CCI Group Mental Health Society to raise awareness and much-needed funds.”

Michael Anhorn, Executive Director of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Vancouver-Fraser Branch, stated how incredibly grateful the Association was for the support of everyone at the CCI Group’s golf tournament. “It speaks strongly of the leadership of CCI and its commitment to mental health awareness. These funds will support our children and youth programs, including Super Fun groups for children and youth who live with mental illness and/or substance use in their families. The Super Fun groups build resiliency and confidence, develop social skills, and foster a sense of connection to other kids in similar situations,” he said.

CCI Group maintains a workforce of over 1000 employees and is involved in building some of the most prominent structures across the country. The company includes Kanin Construction Management Inc (KCM), a VRCA member that leverages the significant resource base of all the CCI Group companies to undertake large-scale construction projects on behalf of premier property developers in Canada.

Congratulations again to CCI Group for their commitment to supporting their community and the construction industry.
