An updated version of CCDC 2 ‘Stipulated Price Contract’ 2020 is now available for purchase through the VRCA store, along with two new CCDC documents:

*same price as the 2008 edition*

This 2020 edition of CCDC’s flagship document features some important and well-needed changes, including a new approach towards payment legislations, the addition of provisions addressing early occupancy, and the introduction of the new ‘Ready-for-Takeover’ project milestone.

We will continue to sell the 2008 registration numbers and seals until the end of 2021. However, we do encourage the use and adoption of the new version, and as such we will be happy to exchange any old seals for the new ones at no extra cost. To facilitate this exchange, please contact Sherry Morrell or Karla Ramirez in VRCA’s planroom.

*same price as other CCDC contracts*

This new document is a first of its kind, as it is intended for use between project owners and their consultant (specifically, consulting engineers). This contract was adopted from the ACEC 31, at the request of ACEC. This contract allows for various types of remuneration, including the use of fixed fees, fees based on the value of the work, fees based on time-based rates or any combination therein. The CCDC 31 clearly outlines the scope of the consultant’s professional services with Schedule A, which allows users to select the specific duties of the consultant for the project.

The target audience for this document is project owners and consulting engineering companies.

The Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) is Canada’s only source for recognized Canadian standard construction industry documents, offering consensus-built documents and contracts that are transparent, balanced, and standardized.

The Canadian Construction Association and its regional partners, which includes the Vancouver Regional Construction Association, promote the use of standard construction contracts that are written with simple, easy to understand language because they result in more clarity, more goodwill between the parties, and less legal anxiety.
