Important Updates to VRCA Events and In-Person Education

Given the recent BC Public Health orders, we’ve had to make some adjustments to what we had hoped would be a full return to the in-person VRCA events we look forward to every year. Networking is a high-value part of membership and compromising everyone’s ability to network at our in-person events is not acceptable to our VRCA team or our members.

We are NOT cancelling any of our high-value VRCA events or in-person education. We are changing some dates so our members and guests can enjoy the networking they’re paying for while adhering to new BC Public Health orders.

PLEASE NOTE: All attendees, sponsors, and students affected by these changes will be contacted by VRCA in the coming weeks to confirm next steps and provide any clarification needed.

In Alignment with the Current BC Public Health Orders, the Following Updates Apply:

The September 15 date is UNCHANGED and will adhere to the Covid-19 safety protocols required by the venue, Northview Golf & Country Club. Because this is an outdoor event, the BC Public Health order requiring proof of first vaccine, effective September 13, will not apply. As an added incentive to encourage industry-wide vaccinations, proof of double vaccination will make golfers eligible to win a $500 WestJet gift card at the event!

This sold-out event will move from September 29 to November 10, 2021. In line with the BC Public Health order, proof of full vaccination will be required to attend Oktoberfest. All registered attendees will be contacted shortly for confirmation of attendance on November 10, 2021, or will receive a full refund.

Our biggest awards gala ever, honouring two years of project excellence, will move from October 19, 2021, to January 19, 2022. This was a hard decision as we can’t wait to celebrate our industry; however, any networking beyond our dinner tables would have been eliminated without masks. In line with the BC Public Health order, proof of full vaccination will be required to attend. All registered attendees will be contacted shortly for confirmation of attendance on January 19, 2022, or will receive a full refund.

Foundational to VRCA’s member value is our robust education programming. Since the onset of Covid-19 restrictions, our Education team has worked tirelessly to continue to safely deliver education and training. In accordance with the BC Public Health orders, proof of first vaccine will be required to attend in-person VRCA classes after September 13 and until October 24 when proof of full vaccination will be required.

We are all in this together. We know this is hard and we share in any disappointment these changes may cause you. Please know we will do everything we can to ensure your best experience at our events and in-class education. VRCA will never compromise our members’ health and safety.
