Building Codes
The BC Building Code (BCBC) is a provincial regulation that governs how new construction, building alterations, repairs and demolitions are completed. It applies throughout the province except for some federal lands and the City of Vancouver. The Province of B.C. is now offering the BC Building, Plumbing and Fire Codes online at no charge. WorkSafeBC
WorkSafeBC is responsible for the prevention of workplace injury, disease and death in British Columbia. Under the Workers Compensation Act, all employers, workers and others connected with work must comply with the Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation.
The Employers’ Advisers Office provides advice and assistance to employers in British Columbia regarding claims, health and safety and assessments (premiums).

Health and Safety
The BC Construction Safety Alliance is a not-for-profit organization that provides a range of health and safety services that are compliant with WorkSafeBC requirements and emphasize straightforward and practical assistance to help contractors meet their health and safety needs and requirements.
